Oakland University Women & Gender Studies 28th Annual Film Festival

The Women and Gender Studies Program proudly announces the 28th Annual 2012 Film Festival offering the acclaimed documentary Miss Representation. The film will be followed by a panel of faculty and community speakers.

Miss Representation documents women's under-representation in politics and positions of power and links it to the way women and girls are portrayed in the media. The film is already drawing attention nationally and we are working with community members to invite parents and school administrators from surrounding K-12 districts. Please mark your calendars!

The program starts at noon on Saturday March 24. Besides the film, we will have a facilitated panel discussion (with Q and A). Our panelists include Rochelle Riley of WDIV, state Sen. Gretchen Witmer, Dr. Kathy Battles and student Ann Blessman.
