Faster AT&T Network Now Available in Rochester

Additional capacity allows for faster Internet from smartphones.

The city of Rochester is getting mobile Internet speeds up to four times faster than what residents and employees could previously surf, thanks to AT&T network improvements in town, north of West Auburn Road, west of Rochester Road.

Rochester, Troy and six other communities received upgrades on cell sites which added additional layers, known as carriers, to offer more capacity for 4G LTE on the network.

“AT&T’s investment across Oakland County is welcome news, especially the way families and businesses rely on their mobile devices to stay connected,” said state Rep. Michael Webber (R-Rochester Hills). “Fast speeds and strong connections make all the difference, and infrastructure investments like these make them possible.”
