Feel the Warmth of the Holiday Season with the Whole Family with Avon Players' It's a Wonderful Life
Classic film brought to life will remind you and yours of the power one person has to do so much good
The Jimmy Stewart masterpiece so many generations grew up with springs to life with Avon Players’ latest offering. Relive the beauty of director Frank Capra’s enduring cinematic Christmas gift with It’s a Wonderful Life, running November 27-December 12.
George Bailey (Mark Misch) has spent his entire life giving to the people of Bedford Falls. Forsaking his longing for world travel, he has instead settled for a provincial life building a family with his beloved wife Mary (Audrey Brown) and running the modest building and loan company founded by his father, a company that prevents the rich Mr. Potter (Chuck Daugherty) from taking over the entire town. When a mistake by George’s Uncle Billy (Kevin Curtis) puts the business in jeopardy one Christmas Eve, a desperate George contemplates suicide, but an as-yet-wingless Angel named Clarence (Bill Dixon) intervenes and shows George what life would have been like for his loved ones and his community if he had never been born.
As an added holiday treat, audiences will feast on the performance of legendary radio personality Chuck Daugherty in the role of Mr. Potter. Mr. Daughterty is a Michigan native whose credits include work as an actor on the Detroit-produced The Lone Ranger, and DJ on The All Night Satellite and Hi Fi Club. A friend of Barry Gordy and a frequent visitor to Hitsville, USA, Mr. Daughtery has the distinction of having subbed for Dick Clark on American Bandstand, and having been among the first to promote surfing music, including The Beach Boys.
