Harnessing Mother Nature's Workforce--Beneficial Insects

The Meadow Brook Garden Club will meet Friday, May 20, 2016 at Meadow Brook Hall, 480 South Adams Road, Rochester MI 48309-1904. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 9:15 a.m. with program to follow at 10:00 a.m. featuring guest speaker, Elly Maxwell, the entomologist at the Dow Gardens in Midland. Insects are the most abundant wildlife visitor to backyards in Michigan. Although a number of them are pests, an even greater number are beneficial. Learn to recognize and maximize Mother Nature’s natural pest control by harnessing the power of beneficial insects. From predators to parasitoids to pollinators, insects can be relied upon for necessary garden chores. Guests are welcome. There is a $5 non-member donation. Reservations are not required.
