Diane L. Young, local financial advisor and President of The Athena Financial Group has been awarded professional designation as a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC). This action was taken by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, a non-profit educational and professional organization established in 1984.
The coveted RFC designation is presented to financial advisors who meet seven criteria: Education, Examination, Experience, Ethics, Financial Licensure, Conduct and Continuing Professional Education. The mission of the international organization is: “Financial professionals dedicated to helping people do a better job of spending, saving, investing, insuring and planning.”
A Registered Financial Consultant must maintain very high professional and ethical standards, plus certify the completion of a minimum of 40 hours of relevant continuing education each year. According to the organization’s chairman, Edwin P. Morrow, RFC, “In a society and economy of rapid change it is essential that a financial advisor be engaged in a continuous quest for knowledge and skills in order to properly serve the public.”
