Man Hit, Killed Crossing Woodward Avenue In Oakland County: Sheriff
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, officials said.
PONTIAC, MI — A 59-year-old man was hit and killed by a car while trying to cross a busy road in Oakland County on Monday, according to the sheriff's office.
The incident happened at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes on Woodward Avenue near South Boulevard in Pontiac, officials said.
The Pontiac man was running across the busy road when he was struck by a 2026 BMW X5, officials said.

Officials said the man was outside a designated crosswalk area when he was struck by the car.
The driver of the BMW, a 37-year-old Waterford Township man, stayed at the scene and was not injured in the crash, officials said.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash for the BMW driver. He also passed all field sobriety tests, officials said.
Officials did not release the victim's name as they continue searching for his family.
Officials were still investigating the crash.
