Mattina, Kent & Gibbons announces support for Rochester business and community events

Mattina, Kent & Gibbons, P.C. (MKG), a Michigan-based CPA firm providing audit, accounting, tax and business consulting services to a variety of industries, is pleased to announce its support of three Rochester-area community initiatives, the Rochester Regional Chamber’s Sunrise Pinnacle Awards, to be held on Friday, Oct. 21 at the Royal Park Hotel, the Rochester DDA’s Scarecrows in the City display and the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester’s annual Tailgate Party on Thursday, Oct. 27, also at the Royal Park. The announcement was made by Vince Mattina, Jr., CPA, MKG’s managing partner.

“We are pleased to be active supporters of Rochester and Lapeer, where we not only have offices, but where many of our team members reside,” Mattina said. “The Scarecrow project is pure fun, the Sunrise Pinnacle Awards support and encourage business and leadership development in the Rochester community and among the Rochester Regional Chamber member base, and the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester provides a variety of programs assisting the Rochester area.”

The Sunrise Pinnacle awards, which celebrate the area’s visionary entrepreneurs, business and civic leaders and exemplary corporate citizens, also play a role in MKG’s history. Mattina won the award for his participation and support of Leadership Greater Rochester in 2009 and Shirley Gofrank, a principal with MKG, won for Business Woman of the Year in 2012.

Additionally, Anelle Brazelton, MKG’s firm administrator, is participating in the Leadership Greater Rochester Class of 2016-2017, which kicked off in September. Leadership Greater Rochester is designed to build a broad-based network of community leaders who enhance their leadership abilities and skills through continuing education, shared perspectives and community involvement in order to work toward solutions in the public interest.
