MOD PIZZA AND SHORT'S BREWING COMPANY PARTNER FOR EXCLUSIVE ONE-DAY ONLY CRAFT BEER FEATURE EVENT

Event to feature two custom-made Summer Shandy MODtails, a line-up of $3 unique Short's brews

MOD Pizza, an individual artisan style pizzeria highly regarded as the pioneer of the fast-casual pizza concept, announced today that it will partner with Short’s Brewing Company (Short’s) for an exclusive, one-day only craft beer feature event at all five of its MOD Pizza locations on Thursday, June 16 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. TSFR Brand Leader of MOD Pizza Jake Schostak made the announcement.
In late 2014, TSFR announced its plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan during the next five years. An individual artisan-style pizza concept created in Seattle, TSFR opened its first five MOD Pizza locations last year in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven and Brighton. Earlier this year, two more locations, one at 23 Mile and Gratiot in Chesterfield and one on Ford Road between Haggerty and Lilley in Canton were announced. Both are slated to open by the end of 2016/early 2017.
“Since we launched in Michigan last year, we have grown our MOD Squad to include residents, businesses and organizations throughout metro Detroit,” said Schostak. “Our goal is to continually Spread MODness, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the communities we serve through creative and inspiring initiatives. The Short’s beer feature event is just one of the many ways in which we are changing the dining experience for our guests while supporting other locally-owned businesses.”
A proud supporter of local craft breweries throughout the state, MOD collaborated with Short’s to create two exclusive Summer Shandy MODtails using MOD Pizza’s house-made lemonades with a Short’s twist. The MODtails will be available for one-day only at all five MOD Pizza locations. Additionally, Short’s will also have a line-up of six of its unique brews, including Celestial Critter, Chocolate Giddy Up, Local’s Lager, Soft Parade, Pandemonium Pale Ale and Old Reliable that will be sold throughout the evening for $3.
“MOD Pizza is one of the newest and hottest fast-casual pizza companies on the scene in Michigan, and we are excited to celebrate the start of summer at all five of their restaurants with this one-of-a-kind beer feature,” said Short’s Beer Liberation Specialist Jon Wojtowicz. “They are a company that prides itself on doing things differently, so this was a natural and perfect partnership for us. We are ready to help them Spread MODness with a Short’s twist.”
Made on demand, MOD Pizza uses fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. Guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800-degree oven in five minutes or less, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD Pizza also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
