Montessori School Rochester Relocates, Prepares for Expansion

Enrollment Increase and Addition of Middle School Students in Fall 2018 Drives Expansion

The Montessori School Rochester (Spirit of the Child LLC) today announced that it has relocated to allow for increasing enrollment and expanded educational programming. The school is now located at 3976 S. Livernois Rd. at W. South Blvd. in Rochester Hills on the site of the former Oakland Steiner School.

The school was the brainchild of Rochester Hills’ residents Ron and Joanne Shango. Joanne Shango, who serves as the Head of School, has more than 20 years of experience in Montessori education. As a mother, she was unable to find an authentic and affordable Montessori School education in Greater Rochester for her own children, so she took matters into her own hands.

“Education is one of the most important gifts we can give our children,” said Joanne Shango. “I knew we needed to make this happen—for our children and the children of our family, friends and neighbors. We’ve had tremendous community support and without it this school would not have been possible.”
