Oakland County Woman Attempts Robbery With A 3-Year-Old Child

GROVELAND TOWNSHIP — A 31-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after a failed armed robbery attempt with her 3-year-old daughter.
The woman tried to hold up the Food Castle on Dixie and Oak Hill in Groveland Township by indicating she had a pistol in her purse, police said.
The manager chased her out and she then fled to a nearby business to hide, where she rammed her car into its gate. Once she got in, she tried to get into another person's car before being chased off by its owner, police said.

She then fled about 150 yards on foot where she flagged down a driver and tried to enter the car, police said.

Authorities said this is where they arrested her without incident. But once in custody, she had a mental health issue and became uncontrollable.
Police then transported her to a local hospital and her daughter was turned over to her grandmother.
The woman is now facing multiple charges, including robbery, operating while intoxicated, carjacking and child endangerment.
