- Oxford school board rejects Nessel's 3rd offer for shooting review. School board President Thomas Donnelly said the district is "proceeding with the independent investigation announced in May. We intend to share information with our school families and the community outlining the next steps in that investigation. We are confident that, at the conclusion, we will have a clearer picture of what led up to the events on that tragic day as well as a set of responsible and effective solutions to consider so, together, we can move forward." (Detroit News)
- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill Tuesday allowing bars and restaurants to serve alcohol in public swimming pools. The House bill aims to loosen the restrictions on food and alcohol in consumption in public swimming pools, a move would Whitmer said could "create entrepreneurial opportunities that allow public pool operators to maximize business heading into a Pure Michigan summer."
