Oxford Township Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash: Sheriff

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A man died after crashing his motorcycle into a car Friday in Oxford Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Eric James Willis, 58, of Oxford Township, was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson FLTRXST on southbound Lapeer Road north of Metamora Road at 6 p.m. when he slammed into the back of a 2012 Ford Edge, officials said.

Willis was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said. Officials do not know if Willis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Officials do believe speed played a factor in the crash.

The driver of the Ford Edge, a 23-year-old Rochester woman and a passenger, were not injured in the crash, officials said.

Officials were still investigating the crash.
