Pontiac Hosts 2nd Annual Winter Fest
The weekend event, sponsored by Genisys Credit Union, features music, kids activities, ice skating, a polar express ride, and so much more!
PONTIAC, MI (January 20, 2024) – Pontiac Youth Recreation is kicking off 2024 with the highly anticipated 2nd Annual Winter Fest, Saturday, January 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is free, takes place on the grounds of Pontiac City Hall, and everyone is invited! We guarantee a good time for families looking to share winter fun and create fond memories of what will certainly be an annual tradition.
“We are excited to host the second annual Pontiac Winter Festival! This family-friendly event offers lots of fun activities, including ice skating and rides on the Polar Express, completely free of charge to the community, “said Mayor Tim Greimel. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this event that brings cheer to our City’s young people during the winter season.”
There is something for everyone to enjoy--a DJ, ice skating, face-painting, a video game room, polar express rides, food trucks, s’mores, and a hot chocolate station. Children can also take photos inside a human snow globe and greet their favorite characters like Blue from Blue’s Clues, and Frozen’s Olaf, Anna, and Elsa. The annual Winter Fest is a great way for residents to get out and have fun with their friends and neighbors.

“It’s a privilege to serve this great community and offer our youth festive and family-oriented events that keep them active and build their interests,” said Pontiac Youth Recreation and Enrichment Manager Tanesha Taylor. “Our kids deserve the best and we’re very excited to break in 2024 with a vibrant event like Winter Fest for a second straight year. Several warming stations have been set up and rental skates are available for those interested in trying their hand at ice skating. Winter Fest is one of the city’s signature events designed to engage Pontiac residents, children, and families in wholesome activities they can look forward to each year.
