'Pure Michigan' Concert Hits Stage On Oct. 24
The concert will feature selections composed by Michigan composers and others.

ROCHESTER-ROCHESETER HILLS, MI - From the Rochester Community Contest Band: The Rochester Community Concert Band opens their 2017-2018 season with a "Pure Michigan" Themed Concert on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo Rd, Rochester, MI 48307. The concert will feature selections composed by Michigan composers or about the State of Michigan including: "American Variations" by Jerry Bilik, Frank Ticheli's "Vesuvius", "Les Cheneaux Impressions" by John Moss, a medley of Motown hits titled "The Soulful Sixties", "How Can I Keep from Singing" by Scott Boerma, H. Owen Reed's "Michigan Morn" featuring Kellie Rao, Mezzo Soprano along with selections by James Curnow, John Stout and David Gillingham. In addition, a wonderful arrangement of Flower Duet from Lakme´ by Delibes for Euphonium Duet accompanied by the RCCB will be performed by RCCB Euphonium Jeff Whitbey and RCCB Conductor Paul F. DeRubeis.
The 70 member Rochester Community Concert Band conducted by Paul F. DeRubeis, includes adult community members from the area, college students from Rochester College and Macomb Community College, and advanced high school musicians.
