Rochester College Music Groups To Perform Fall Concert

Chorus and Concert Band will present a program spanning many years, nationalities​ ​and styles

Rochester College’s music department will present its first concert of the academic year on Tuesday, Oct​. ​13, at 7:30 p.m. It will feature the Rochester College A Cappella Chorus and the Rochester College Concert Band.

The 50-member chorus will present a program spanning many years, nationalities​ ​and styles. Selections will include “In the First Light,” made popular by the group Glad, as well as a Moses Hogan spiritual. Also featured will be the work of Eric Whitacre and Palestrina, among others.

The 75-member concert band will perform the popular march “National Emblem” by E.E. Bagley, “October” by Eric Whitacre, and “Hollywood Milestones,” a medley featuring some of the best music from the last​ ​25
years of film history, including Jaws, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Chariots of Fire, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park​ ​and more. The band will close​ its program with the fiery “Danzon No. 2” by Arturo Marquez.
