Rochester Hills Man Seriously Hurt After Getting Hit By Car: Sheriff
Police do not believe speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A 72-year-old Rochester Hills man was seriously injured after he was hit by a car early Sunday morning, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
The man was walking across Avon Road at Rochester Road at 6:45 a.m. when he was struck by a 2013 Ford Focus that was moving north on Rochester Road, according to the sheriff's office.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was described as "gravely injured," according to the sheriff's office.

The car was driven by a 28-year-old man from Colombia, according to the sheriff's office.
The U.S. Customs and Border Control determined the driver was in the U.S. illegally, and was released pending a future hearing in federal court, according to the sheriff's office.

Police believe the man was in the marked cross-walk when the crash happened. He was also wearing a reflective vest, according to the sheriff's office.
Police do not believe speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
