Countdown to Awesome: Rochester Hills Fireworks Show

The annual Festival of the Hills starts early with games to give the kids a chance to blow off steam, other family friendly events.

Rochester Hills, MI — Get ready for colorful booms and vapor trails at the Festival of the Hills, the third-largest fireworks show in Michigan, coming up in Rochester Hills.

Thousands of families from southeast Michigan will be setting up their chairs and blankets to watch the night sky light up on Wednesday, June 29 at the Annual Festival of the Hills Fireworks Show at Earl Borden Park.

The Festival of the Hills is a Rochester Hills tradition celebrating its 20th year.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with activities for the whole family. Children can enjoy the free petting zoo, RARA games bounce houses and other attractions. DJ Boji from Channel 955 will spin pop hits and family friendly dance music on the second stage.

The fun continues through the evening with a musical performance provided by KJAMZ. The awe-inducing fireworks at 10:06 p.m.

“Every year, we work with our sponsors, residents and the business community to create a fun family event that more than 50,000 residents and guests will be able to enjoy,” Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett said in a news release. “Thanks to their generosity, we even included a few new surprises that are sure to be a hit."

Admission to attend is free and includes activities and games, thanks to a partnership with Oakland County Parks.

All Festival of the Hills events are located at Earl E. Borden Park on the southeast corner of Hamlin and John R. Roads.
