Rochester, MI – October 24, 2016 – Rochester Rotary, a member club of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service and encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, has awarded two Rochester Community School Interact Club Presidents (Rotary International’s service club for youth) and one Rochester Community School Interact Faculty Advisor with Paul Harris Fellow awards. The Paul Harris Fellow awards were purchased by Rochester Rotary Club from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in recognition of each of these students. Each Paul Harris Fellow award is a $1,000 contribution to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Rochester Rotary specifically recognized each of these two students and the Faculty Advisor for their hard work, leadership skills, and dedication to Rotary through community and international service.
The recipients of the Paul Harris Fellow awards were:
- Zara Ahmed, club president, Interact Club of Rochester High School
- Carley Wood, club co-president, Interact Club of Stoney Creek High School
- Kara Sears, Faculty Advisor, Interact Club of ACE High School
“On behalf of the entire Rochester Rotary Club, it is an honor to award these three Interactors with Paul Harris Fellows,” Wayne Hodges, Director of the Rochester Rotary Club Youth Services said. “Their dedication to Rotary, work to improve the communities in which they live, work and play, and caring leadership skills displayed both in the classroom and beyond need to be recognized and I cannot think of a better way to show our appreciation.”
