Speaker, Actor, Storyteller and Teacher Tells How the Bard Still Influences

Jim Glenn presents the life, times and work of William Shakespeare on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Public Library. Glenn draws his experience and skills as a teacher, speaker, actor, and storyteller.

Glenn’s lively and informative presentation includes a biographical summary of Shakespeare’s boyhood in Stratford including what is known (or surmised) of the impact of Will’s family, schooling and other early influences on his later work as a poet and playwright.

Glenn’s description of the vibrant, colorful England, especially London of the late 1500s and early 1600s, brings to life the world in which Shakespeare lived and worked and reveals how he and the time and place in which he lived, still influence us.

The presentation covers Shakespeare’s work as a living, breathing and extremely busy actor and playwright during one of the most dynamic and influential periods of theatre history.
