ROCHESTER, MI – If you’re one of those people who thinks the hype surrounding this weekend’s release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is so delicious you could eat it up, it turns out you can.

No, really.

Rochester’s Home Bakery is turning out “Star Wars HomeNuts” for a limited time, owner Heather Tocco told The Oakland Press.

Doughnut designers arrived at the bakery at 4 a.m. Friday to begin creating the, ahem, forceful designs featuring Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, and a Storm Trooper and a pair of light sabers.

More than 100 of the special doughnuts sold Friday, and twice that many have been ordered for Christmas Eve.

“Our social media has exploded because of these,” Tacco told the newspaper. “We knew the reception would be good ... so far, everything has exceeded our expectations.”
