Stony Creek Hosts Suicide Prevention Walk Sept. 20 at Eastwood Beach
Help Stop Suicide ad Stony Creek Metropark Walk Sept. 20
The Second Annual American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Community Out of the Darkness Walk will take place at Eastwood Beach at Stony Creek Metropark on Sunday, Sept. 20 from 1-4 p.m.
Registration is free and begins at 11:30 a.m. Walk to celebrate a loved one who died by suicide and help raise funds for suicide prevention education.
Sponsors include Emagine Entertainment, Fresh Thyme Markets Rochester Hills, The Linda Rea Team, Mayor Bryan Barnett and Shelby-Utica TV. Special thanks to TV Warren, Yates Cider Mill and Hungry Howies Pizza.

Music will be provided by Jennifer Kincer of Kincer-Catallo Voice Studio, with special guest Corrin Barnett.
Author Mary Jean Teachman will again fly in to speak and Common Ground will be on hand.

Teachman wrote a book about her journey toward healing after the loss of her son, Forrest.
The walk is less than a mile and is off the main road. Participants can bring a picnic or bbq and enjoy the park after the walk.

There is a fee for parking if participants do not have an annual pass, but is valid for the entire day.
