84 Cats, 7 Dogs Rescued from Royal Oak Hoarder
Living conditions at the house "deplorable," police say, but the cats and dogs appeared to be in good health.

Authorities rescued 84 cats and seven dogs from a Royal Oak hoarder Tuesday after neighbors reported ongoing problems with pungent odors coming from the home in the 1000 block of Edgewood.
“Although the conditions of the house were deplorable, the animals appear to be in good health,” Royal Oak Police Lt. Dave Clemens said in a statement. “They are currently being medically cleared and we are hopeful each animal will be eligible for adoption.”
