'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' Premiere: 5 Epic Questions
Why are Batman and Superman, two of the most iconic superheroes in the Justice League, fighting it out in Detroit — er, Metropolis?

DETROIT, MI – Holy smokes, it’s almost time.
Director Zack Snyder’s long awaited “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” shot at several locations around Detroit in 2014, arrives in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 25.
You might well ask, “Riddle me this, Batman: Why are you and Superman, arguably two of the most iconic figures ever in comic book history, fighting?” You're both good guys, right? So much for Truth, Justice and the American Way.

And then there’s this: Michael Shannon’s General Zod makes an appearance. Didn’t Superman kill him in “Man of Steel”? What’s up with that?
And why does he have flippers for hands?

Wonder Woman is not a named character in the title, so what’s she even doing there? Also, why are Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg, who also don’t get top billing, in Metropolis?
If we were to hazard a guess, it’s that “Batman v. Superman” is the foundation for a Justice League franchise. But it's only a guess.

Here’s what you already know about the Warner Brothers/DC Comics collaboration:
Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman) are cast in the title roles. Gal Gadot steps in as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
From trailers, we've been able to piece together this:
All of the action takes place when Superman is just a newbie to the planet Earth.
The young, eager superhero gets into a huge fight with General Zod and as a result, much of Metropolis is destroyed.
That ticks off Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, because hundreds of employees are trapped and killed inside a Wayne Industries building destroyed in the conflict.
Because of this, Batman regards Superman as a menace and decides to take him down.
At some point, the Caped Crusader and Man of Steel team up with Wonder Woman to fight Doomsday and Lex Luthor.
Here’s some more stuff we know:
“Batman v. Superman” was filmed mainly in Detroit (Metropolis), but Michigan locations also include Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, Michigan State University in East Lansing and Birmingham. Scenes were also shot in Chicago and Yorkville, IL; East Los Angeles College; Deming, NM; and Washington, DC.
Below are six clips to stoke your imagination. Be sure to tell us in the comments why you think they're fighting.
