METRO DETROIT, MI – Love beer? Maybe you’d like a career in beer.

In Michigan, craft brewing alone contributed $1.85 billion in economic impact, up 84 percent from about $1 billion a couple of years earlier, according to data from the Brewers Association, an industry trade group based in Denver.

The craft beer industry in Michigan — which ranks ninth for total economic impact behind California, Pennsylvania, Texas, New York, Colorado, Illinois, Ohio and Florida — was responsible for 14,733 full-time jobs paying out $571.6 million in wages in 2014.
