Few Police Problems Reported at Arts, Beats & Eats
Police arrested three, two within festival footprint, and one near police station, where man was yelling obscenities at kids and passersby.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Police made three arrests during the four-day Arts, Beats & Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak over Labor Day Weekend.
The festival drew a record crowd of 415,000, but there were no significant events that required police attention, according to a news release from the Royal Oak Police Department.
Two of the arrests were made on the festival grounds, including one Sunday for assault and battery and trespassing, and a second Monday for disorderly conduct. A third person was arrested near the police station for public intoxication.

In the assault and battery and trespassing case, a man is accused of pushing an auxiliary officer who was attempting to stop hi from walking down the railroad tracks, police said. After allegedly pushing the officer, the subject ran down the tracks where he was apprehended by officers.
An allegedly drunk man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became aggressive with employees who had asked him to leave, police said.

The third arrest for public intoxication came outside the police department after an officer observed him yelling obscenities in front of a young child and other pedestrians, police said.
The Royal Oak Fire Department also kept busy attending to numerous medical calls during the festival, according to the release.
