Now that winter has arrived, the days are much chillier and it’s important to take precautions to protect hair from damage that elements of cold weather can cause.

Winter can actually be one of the most harmful seasons for hair, as it can cause dry, breakable hair if it is not cared for properly.

Protecting hair from heat is extremely important, as blow-drying and heat-styling tools contribute to hair breakage. The damage will only be amplified if hair is already brittle from the dry winter air. Conditioning prior to styling hair with heat will help protect it from further damage.

Washing hair minimally, regularly trimming hair and investing in a humidifier are other ways to prevent hair from drying out and leading to unwanted breakage.
