More Snow on the Way in Metro Detroit: When to Expect It

The upper 50s are in the seven-day forecast, but winter isn't finished yet.

METRO DETROIT, MI – Snow flurries are expected to move into the area by late morning, with heavier snow is expected around the evening commute.

Total accumulation isn’t expected to be much more than an inch or perhaps two closer to the Ohio border, according to the National Weather Service.

More snow flurries could fall overnight, Deb Elliott, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, told The Detroit News.

Snow showers likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Southeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 1 a.m. Low around 16. North northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 31. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the evening.

Saturday: Snow showers likely before 1pm, then rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 36. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40.
