Planning Your High School Senior's Graduation Party

Two epic life moments are rapidly approaching for thousands of metro Detroit high school seniors – prom and graduations. Many parents face intense emotions coupled with the added responsibilities of helping their teen find the perfect prom dress or tuxedo and plan a memorable graduation party. Where do you even get started? On Wednesday, February 17, hundreds of parents, graduating seniors and other family members will gather at the Royal Oak Farmers for a colossal one evening expo called the Metro Detroit Graduation & Prom Marketplace. Scheduled from 6 pm to 9:30 pm, conveniently during most schools’ winter break, this graduation party planning and prom fashion extravaganza will feature over 50 exhibitors with a selection of resources ranging from the essential to this extraordinary.

Exhibitors will include tent and party rental suppliers, event venues, caterers, bakeries, disc jockeys, unique entertainment options, photo booths, favors, gift items, prom dresses, tuxedos, limousine services and so much more. A flavorful offering of ten local caterers will be providing a bounty of samples to attendees.

Beyond the basics though, the event boasts a wildly popular fowling court constructed onsite by the Fowling Warehouse in Hamtramck, two massive video game trailers with lounge seating and the latest in gaming technology, the best in age-appropriate interactive entertainment from ACME Partyworks, Chris Nordman & Associates and Carnival Bounce and other options to not only wow our attendees but to engage them as well. One of the metro Detroit area’s best DJs will be providing nonstop music to further elevate the experience.

Tickets are available both in advance as well as at the door the evening of the event. Adult tickets are $7.00. Tickets for high school students and children 5 years and older are $5.00. Children under 5 are admitted for free. Families registering in advance online at www.celebratemetrodetroit.com will receive one surprise gift per family, valued at $20.00, the evening of the event.

The organizer of the Metro Detroit Graduation & Prom Marketplace – The Quintessential Event Company – has recently reached out to the leadership at Flint Schools to determine how we can be assistance with this unprecedented tragedy. With potentially thousands of children maligned with irreversible developmental issues as a result of continuous exposure to lead in the city’s water, Flint Schools is in need of materials to assist in community outreach – specifically new books and new education toys suitable for children newborn to 5 years of age. The Quintessential Event Company has designated this event and its next two events as drop off points for these items. You do not need to attend this event to donate items; however, if you are planning to join us, you will receive one complimentary ticket for each item donated.
