Recall: Listeria Warning Spreads To Frozen Vegetables With Meat
The deadly Listeria recall of vegetables expands to 47 million pounds of frozen chicken and meat products that include veggies.

The deadly Listeria recall has expanded to 47 million pounds of meat and poultry products sold in Michigan and across the nation.
The not-ready-to-eat meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes have been recalled from Costco, Trader Joe's and other stores, the U.S. Department of Agricultureβs Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced.
This action is being taken in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration because the recalled products contain vegetables that are part of the recent CRF Frozen Foods recall. The recall does not involve any meats sold alone, without the vegetables.

Other than Trader Joe's, the company said it didn't have a list of stores that sell the product, although a Fortune magazine report said Costco was one of the stores.

Trader Joe's said in a statement that the expanding product recalls related to listeria have been limited to a vendor's frozen vegetables and that all potentially affected products have been removed from its store shelves and destroyed.
"Weβve contacted our suppliers to verify that other TJβs products do not contain frozen vegetables from the dates-in-question from CRF," the statement said. "To our knowledge at this time, no other Trader Joeβs products are part of this recall."
