Royal Oak Gets Website Makeover, New Domain Name in the Works

The city's website gets a new name and fresh look.

The city of Royal Oak's official website will soon have a new domain - www.romi.gov - as the city moves to modernize its communications.

"After initially denying our request, the federal GSA (General Services Administration), thanks to some prodding from Congressman (Sandy) Levin’s office, has offered to allow us to use romi.gov if we also obtain royaloakmi.gov," reports City Manager Don Johnson in a memo to the Royal Oak City Commission. "We are in the process of completing that registration."

The new domain, once registered, will replace ci.royal-oak.mi.us

In addition, the city's website has been updated recently with a new color palette and features the city's new logo and tagline - Life Now Playing.
