Royal Oak High School Among Michigan's Best: U.S. News Rankings
School again earned a silver medal, one of 93 of the 850 Michigan public high schools to do so. There were only seven gold medal winners.

ROYAL OAK, MI – Royal Oak High School (ROHS) is one of the best public high schools in Michigan, according to the 2016 Best High School ranking by U.S. News & World Report. The 2016 report was released earlier this week.
Of the 850 public high schools in Michigan. ROHS was one of only 93 schools awarded a silver medal. Seven schools received gold medals and 159 received bronze medals. This is the second year in a row that Royal Oak High School has been awarded a silver medal designation.

“This ranking affirms Royal Oak High School‟s position as a top tier high school in our county and in the state,” school superintendent Shawn Lewis-Lakin said in a news release. “We have seen consistent growth in the performance of our high school students, and this recognition reaffirms the tremendous teaching and learning that are occurring at ROHS.”

“That this recognition is based upon actual student achievement data makes it all the more significant,” said Sarah Olson, executive director of instruction for Royal Oak Schools. “ROHS is producing outstanding student learning results.”

ROHS, along with Royal Oak Middle School, is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Middle Years Programme.
