Shelving, Inc. Announces 24th Annual Benefit on the Bay

Event has raised more than $1.4 million for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen to date

Shelving, Inc., a second-generation family-owned provider of corporate and consumer shelving and storage solutions, will host the 24th annual Benefit on the Bay on Friday, August 25 with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, which offers a number of programs throughout metro Detroit to help those in need. Mike Schodowski, vice president of sales for Shelving, Inc., made the announcement.

The event will take place at MacRay Harbor on Lake St. Claire in Harrison Twp. and will once again be emceed by Detroit media personality Jay Towers, a morning news anchor for Fox 2 Detroit and host of the Jay Towers in the Morning program on 100.3 WNIC. Admittance to the event includes complimentary appetizers, dinner and drinks. There will also be a wide variety of entertainment ranging from live music to a silent auction. World-renowned speed painter Dave Santia will also be on-site to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces to be actioned off following dinner.

“Benefit on the Bay continues to get bigger and better every year, and it’s wonderful to see individuals and businesses from local communities around metro Detroit attend the event and support the Capuchin Soup Kitchen as they provide much-needed services for those in need,” said Schodowski. “Throughout the event’s 24-year-history, we have raised more than $1.4 million for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and we look forward to adding to that total this year with Shelving, Inc. underwriting the entire event to ensure that 100 percent of the proceeds benefit this deserving organization that’s making a lasting impact on our community.”

Tickets to Benefit on the Bay are available now for $65 a piece and can be purchased through the event’s website at www.benefitonthebay.org until August 5. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities, program ads, and donations of auction items are also currently being accepted. In addition to Benefit on the Bay, Shelving, Inc. happily donates 10 percent of its profits to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen annually. This past January, the company also hosted the fourth annual Bocce with the Brothers fundraiser, which raised more than $30,000 for the Capuchin Ministries.
