Shelving, Inc. Moves Corporate Headquarters to Madison Heights
Auburn Hills and Madison Heights locations consolidate into one facility

Shelving, Inc., a second-generation, family-owned provider of corporate and consumer shelving and storage solutions, has consolidated its Auburn Hills and Madison Heights locations into one facility located at 29275 Stephenson Highway in Madison Heights that will serve as the corporate headquarters. Shelving, Inc. President and CEO Joe Schodowski made the announcement.
The 40,000-square-foot building is fully operational and opened in April. The building was purchased for $1.5 million and received more than $250,000 in upgrades, including a new security system, energy efficient LED and motion sensor lighting, an upgraded HVAC system with high-efficient heat, new windows and a new roof. The company utilized local Michigan companies to bring their vision to life, such as Motor City Paint, Michigan Maple Block and Compunetics Inc.
“We’re thrilled to continue to serve our customer base in Metro Detroit and the surrounding suburbs by investing in a new facility in Madison Heights,” Schodowski said. “Oakland County has played a critical role in the success of Shelving, Inc., and while many businesses are choosing to move downtown, we’re looking forward to contributing to the success of the suburbs by remaining in this community for years to come.”

The new headquarters houses the company’s marketing department and ecommerce fulfillment center under one roof. The 3-acre space allows for more inventory to be stored, so client’s get their shelving units quicker.
“It was extremely important for us to use Michigan-based businesses to create our new space as locally and efficiently as possible,” said Schodowski. “Everything from our windows and lighting to our heating and cooling was updated with energy efficiency in mind leveraging smart technology to save on monthly costs and decrease our energy footprint.”
