Team Schostak Family Restaurants to Host Statewide Fundraiser Benefiting JDRF

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Livonia, Mich.-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, announced today that it is helping to fight Type 1 Diabetes by hosting a statewide fundraising event benefiting JDRF (formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) on Friday, August 11. The event will take place at all of TSFR’s Michigan Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza and Del Taco restaurants. TSFR Director of Marketing Barb Pasciak made the announcement.

With a goal of raising $100,000, all 65 Applebee’s, 26 Olga’s Kitchen, eight MOD Pizza and five Del Taco restaurants owned and operated by TSFR will participate in this one-day fundraising event. All guest and TSFR donations collected throughout the day will be earmarked toward accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes and its complications.

To further benefit JDRF, TSFR will donate $25,000 in addition to guest donations raised during the event to support the cause.

“An astounding 1.25 million Americans are living with Type 1 Diabetes every day, with another more than 400,000 people being diagnosed each year,” said Pasciak. “JDRF plays a critical role in improving the quality of life for many of those people—many of which reside within the communities we serve. We are proud to partner with this inspiring organization in their mission to fight against Type 1 Diabetes, and we hope that families in our communities will join us in this endeavor.”

In exchange for a $1 or $5 donation at any of TSFR’s Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza or Del Taco restaurants, guests will receive a coupon good for a free item from a select menu. The following coupons will be given in exchange for donations:

Beginning August 4, all TSFR restaurants will also be selling JDRF’s paper sneakers in-restaurant to raise additional awareness and funds.
