Man Arrested After Shooting Woman In Saginaw Apartment Building (wsgw.com) — Police say a 33-year-old Saginaw man is in custody after a woman was shot Sunday night at Rosien Towers in downtown Saginaw, leaving her hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators from Saginaw Police and Michigan State Police’s Major Crimes Unit are still piecing together what happened and are asking anyone with information to contact local authorities or Crime Stoppers.
   

2. See an interactive map of 15 Saginaw Township intersections getting Flock cameras (mlive.com) — Saginaw Township drivers will soon see 34 new Flock license plate cameras installed at 15 busy intersections, with local roads outfitted within two months and state roads following in six to nine months. Township trustees approved the system, which police say will help find stolen cars and missing people, while promising transparency and limited data retention.
   

3. 7th grader receives award at Saginaw County Art Exhibit (wnem.com) — A Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy seventh-grader, Inaara Amin, has earned the Superintendent’s Choice Purchase Award at the 37th annual Saginaw County Art Exhibit, with her painting now part of Saginaw ISD’s permanent collection. Her colorful portrait will be displayed at the ISD administration offices on Barnard Road, alongside other standout student works from across Saginaw County.
   

4. Volunteers renovate women's home to help provide a welcome place for those in need (midmichigannow.com) — Volunteers in Saginaw have given the Emmaus House, a transitional home for women leaving prison, a major facelift with fresh paint, garden work, and porch renovations. Led by the Saginaw County Chamber leadership class, the project aims to create a more welcoming, no-cost place for residents to focus on rebuilding their lives.
   

5. Saginaw trio pleads in 2023 case of 2 males held captive, tortured, forced to fight each other (mlive.com) — Saginaw residents may want to know that three people have now entered plea deals in a disturbing 2023 case where two males were held captive and abused inside a Saginaw home, avoiding a scheduled trial. The trio will be sentenced in Saginaw County Circuit Court in July, while a fourth defendant is already serving a lengthy prison term. Details from victim testimony outline how one man escaped and alerted a nearby Saginaw police sergeant.
