City of Saline: Notice of Registration for the General Election 11/3/26 (thesuntimesnews.com) — If you live in the City of Saline and aren't yet registered to vote, you still have time before the November 3, 2026 general election. You can register or update your registration online or in person, with extended hours at the Saline City Clerk's Office right up through Election Day, and all polling places are handicap accessible.
   

2. Saline City Council down to two interim City Manager candidates (mlive.com) — Saline officials are down to two finalists to serve as interim city manager, with council expected to choose who will run day-to-day city operations on the first Monday in October. Candidates Thomas Thomas and Elke Doom both bring extensive municipal experience, and background checks are underway before council reaches consensus on a conditional offer.
   

3. Vote for the Ann Arbor-area Friday night football hero of Week 5 (mlive.com) — Saline football fans can help recognize a standout player after a big win over Monroe, where Baldwin scored twice, including on a recovered muffed punt. An Ann Arbor-area poll is open through Sunday night, letting local readers vote for their Friday night football hero among several top regional performers.
   

4. Barry Smith Jacobsen (thesuntimesnews.com) — A longtime Saline firefighter and Ford retiree has passed away, with visitation and a memorial service set for October 9–10 at St. Paul United Church of Christ on Michigan Avenue in Saline. Family, friends, and neighbors are invited to pay their respects, share memories of his decades of community service, and, if they wish, make donations to the church in his honor.
   

5. El-Sayed, Rogers face voter opposition to data centers in crucial Senate race (planetdetroit.org) — Residents around Saline and Saline Township are at the center of Michigan's U.S. Senate debate over massive new data centers, including the Oracle and OpenAI facility under construction nearby. Voters interviewed in downtown Saline voiced concerns about environmental impacts, utility costs, and candidates' financial ties, as Mike Rogers and Abdul El-Sayed now both back some form of data center moratorium.
