• Saline City Council Meets Monday to Discuss Downtown Gathering Space, Background Checks for City Appointees (thesalinepost.com) — Saline residents can follow major decisions Monday as City Council meets at 6 p.m. to review plans for a downtown Gathering Space on the Kinley property and the city's $250,000 contribution. The regular 7 p.m. meeting will also cover a large wastewater project change order, background check rules for city appointees, and recognition of local volunteer service and police women.
   

• State Schedules Hearing on Saline Township Data Center Discharge Permit (thesuntimesnews.com) — State environmental regulators have scheduled an Oct. 21 virtual hearing on a draft wastewater discharge permit for the Related Digital data center in Saline Township, which would release treated water into the Saline River. Residents can join online or by phone, ask questions, and submit formal comments through Oct. 23. This permit decision could shape how the large facility manages its wastewater locally.
   

• Saline Rolls Past Pioneer, Improves to 3-0 (thesuntimesnews.com) — Saline High School's football team pushed its record to 3-0 with a dominant 48-13 win over Ann Arbor Pioneer, powered by a huge first half. Quarterback Case Campbell threw four touchdown passes, while the Hornets' offense piled up big yardage through the air and on the ground. Next up is a key SEC Red rivalry trip to Dexter on Friday.
