Black and Orange game kicks off year of caring for UHS students

Annual football fundraiser benefited Turning Point

The annual Black and Orange game at Utica High School helped raised some green this year for one local charity.

The UHS football and cheerleading teams raised $1,212 for Turning Point, an organization that provides a supportive and safe environment for victims of domestic violence.

UHS fans were asked to make a donation when the fifth annual Black and Orange game was played at Swineheart stadium on August 16.

“This is the fifth year in a row that Utica athletics has come together to support this great cause,” said Utica High School coach Mark Moehlig. “This effort coincides with the Utica Athletic department’s mission of creating positive change in the community.”
