Ike, Ford square off in state's first Gridiron Classic

The Inaugural Gridiron Classic at Ford Field is set for Friday,
August 31 at the home of the Detroit Lions.

The high school doubleheader kicks off at 5:45 p.m. with a contest
between Lake Orion vs. Troy Athens.  At 8:15pm, Henry Ford II will battle Utica
Eisenhower.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity for the four  schools, their teams, their bands and their fans to perform at Ford Field,” said  Ray Compton, CEO of Compton Strategies, promoters of the event. “The Lions and  Ford Field have been very cooperative. We began the discussions last year and  they have been very supportive of allowing us to bring this event to
Detroit.”

Advance tickets are $10 and are available at the high schools.
Youth football programs in the communities may purchase tickets for $8.
