Ike Yearbook earns prestigious national award
2011 yearbook earns Silver Crown award from Columbia Scholastic Press Association

For the second year in a row, Eisenhower High School's "Esprit de Corps" yearbook earned a top national honor by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA): a Silver Crown award.
The yearbook was one of two Michigan yearbooks – and one of only 122 high school or college yearbooks in the nation - to earn the Silver Crown award at the 88th annual Scholastic Convention, held March 16 in New York.
This year 1,351 newspapers, magazines and yearbooks published during the 2010-2011 academic year were eligible in the 2012 Crown Awards program. Judging for printed publications took place at Columbia University from December 17-19, 2011 by the 10-member Board of Crown Judges.
The 2011 yearbook staff worked diligently throughout the school year and over the summer to produce the 2011 yearbook. They were led by former Editor-in-Chief and current Missouri school of journalism student Maria Harper and advised by Yearbook Adviser Erica Kincannon.
The CSPA is an international student press association uniting student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges and award programs.
Last year, the yearbook earned a Silver Crown Award and was critiqued at "Silver Medalist Status." In addition to their Silver Crown this year, they were critiqued at "Gold Medalist Status."
