For the fourth straight year, Collins Elementary School has earned the top float honors in the Sterling Heights Memorial Day Parade competition.
Cultural commissioners Ron Bindle and Frank DiMaria presented the award recently at a ceremony outside of City Hall.
Collins scout troop members handed out "Thank You" cards and flags to veterans along the parade route. Teachers and students provided patriotic posters that were mounted on the float after incorporating the theme into classroom study.
