Conrad Koch Appointed Principal of New Dawn Academy

Sterling Heights' newest STEM school brings talented educator to leadership team

Education Management & Networks, Inc. (EMAN), a full-service management company servicing charter schools in the State of Michigan, announced today that Conrad Koch has been appointed principal of New Dawn Academy, a new charter school in Sterling Heights. Ahmed Saber, founder and president of EMAN, made the announcement.

“We view New Dawn Academy as an important next step in the growth of EMAN, and it was clear we needed the right leader at the helm,” Saber said. “Conrad is an incredible educator with a great track record for creating successful learning environments. With his vision for success guiding the school, New Dawn Academy students are in great hands.”

Koch brings more than 10 years of school leadership to New Dawn Academy and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Curriculum from University of Detroit Mercy. Koch leads to ensure that all students have an equitable opportunity to achieve academic success regardless of economic background, gender, race, creed, ethnicity, heritage, native language or disability.

“Guiding and inspiring students has been my lifelong passion, and I look forward to getting to know all of our students and helping them find their own passions as they develop into young learners,” Koch said. “Dynamic and engaging teaching is necessary to make progress academically, and I am personally committed to our students’ achievement.”

At New Dawn Academy, students in kindergarten through eighth grade will receive a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The new facility spans 22,000 square feet, houses 18 classrooms and serves up to 450 students. The school will have bilingual learning support, in keeping with the EMAN schools’ dedication to providing high-quality STEM pathways for children of diverse backgrounds.

New Dawn Academy is located at 8200 Irving Dr., Sterling Heights, MI, 48312. Classes are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Enrollment is now open and families can register by visiting www.newdawnacademy.net.
