80th Annual Michigan Peach Festival

The Michigan Peach Festival of Romeo going on daily through Labor Day with all the fun a festival can offer. It's five days of food, fun, carnival rides, arts and crafts, music, sports tournaments and more. Plus today you can take in the Croswell Extravaganza, a craft show-farmers market-business exp; Kidsfest; and dunk-a-hunk for a cause.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 3

  • 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: Romeo Masonic Lodge Peach Pie & Food Sale, Masonic Lodge Gray's Opera House, 231 N. Main, Romeo.
  • 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: Child ID Program, Masonic Lodge Gray's Opera House, 231 N. Main,
  • 8 a.m.-4 p.m.: The Peach Festival Golf Classic, Bruce Hills & Vargo Golf Co., Bruce Hills Golf Club, 6771 Taft Road; for tickets or details, call 586-752-7244.
  • 8 a.m.-8 p.m.: Peach Festival Tennis Tournaments, Romeo, Eisenhower and Almont high schools. For details call 586-530-3110.
  • 8 a.m.-8 p.m.: 30th Annual NMSC Romeo Peach Festival Soccer Tournament, Hevel, Gilcher, Washington, Crystal Fields. Call 586-781-4126 if you need details.
  • 8 a.m.-9 p.m.: R-W-B Men’s Double Elimination Softball Tournament, Crystal Diamonds Field.
  • 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Peach Festival Kidsfest, designed for ages 14 and younger. Romeo-Washington-Bruce Parks & Recreation Romeo Village Park, on Rawles Street. Highlights include races, dress-up stuffed animal contests, bike and trike decoration, pie-eating contest, water balloon toss, petting zoo, moonwalk, crafts and more. Most activities are free.
  • 9 a.m.-8 p.m.: Nicaragua Bake Sale - Wesleyan Medical Mission, Dr. Lie's Office, 288 Main St., Romeo.
  • 10 a.m.-7 p.m.: New this year is the Croswell Extravaganza - Craft Show, Farmer's Market and Business Expo, a non-juried event held at Croswell Elementary School and grounds. $1 admission. 
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: "Dunk a Hunk" - Romeo Football Team, where you can dunk your favorite player for a donation to the Romeo "Watchdog Game." Tank will be at Century 21 Collins, 226 S. Main, Romeo.
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Annual Used Book Sale, Romeo Recreation Center, 361 Morton St.
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Frontier Town Arts & Craft Show, Frontier Town, 67300 Van Dyke.
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Mike & Ruth’s Hilltop Farm, peach pies from scratch, in front of Citizens Bank, downtown Romeo.
  • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: St. Paul's Peachy Flea Market & Craft Fair, St. Paul's Episcopal Church 11100 St. Clair, Romeo.
  • 11 a.m.-9 p.m.: Pamela's Catering Food Tent, 221-1/2 North Baily, Romeo, featuring ribs, sandwiches, peach pies, and more.
  • 11 a.m.-8 p.m.: 46th Annual Baby & Pet Photo Contest, Kiwanis of Romeo, 135 Main, Romeo.
  • 11 a.m.-10 p.m.: River of God Cafe, River of God Community Church, 230 E. St. Clair, Romeo.
  • Noon-8 p.m.: Peachy Keen Art Scene, at the Starkweather Artists Market, Starkweather Arts Center, Main Street, Romeo.
  • Noon-11 p.m.: Mid America Shows Carnival.
  • Noon-1 a.m.: Beers Around the World, Lions Community Field
  • Noon.-1 a.m.: Refreshment Tent. Lions Field, $2 donation after 7 p.m.
  • Noon-5 p.m.: RWB Parks & Rec Senior Dept. Carnival Bingo,  Romeo Community Center, 361 Morton St.
  • Noon check-in, and 1 p.m. start: Romeo Varsity Wrestling Team's Annual Peach Fest Beanbag Tournament, Romeo Lions Club Refreshment Tent,
