As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we are reminded of the important roles the matriarchs of the family play. They are the ones who bring us together, make sure we are cared for, and give us unconditional love and support. My family has always been anchored by strong women, first by my wonderful mother Anne, and now by my amazing wife Ann Marie.

Who amongst us can’t think back to a time when we needed our mother and she was there for us or when only her voice could soothe us? How many of us, who have lost our mothers, think now and again of how much we would give for just one more day with her? I am fortunate to have received unbelievable love and support from my mother and from the mother of my children in my mission to be elected to the State House of Representatives.
The most important thing I can do for my mother, my wife, and all the mothers in the 36th District is to ensure that there is opportunity for all people to provide for their families, have fruitful careers, and enjoy secure retirements. These priorities are at the heart of my campaign to put FAMILIES FIRST. Greater numbers of stable jobs in Michigan mean fewer children will be forced to leave Michigan to find work. This combined with a secure retirement for our seniors will strengthen our families. A strong family is the backbone of a strong Michigan. Families that stay together create a better Michigan for all of us.
As you search for the perfect sentimental card, buy a bouquet of flowers, or take her out for a nice meal, think to yourself what your mom would really want this Mother’s Day. She wants as much time with her family as possible.
I humbly ask for your support in my effort to be elected to the State House of Representatives so I can ensure a brighter tomorrow for all of our families…it’s what mom would want you to do.
