High school bands strike a positive note for annual UCS tradition

Annual BandARama set for October 2

All four award-winning UCS Marching Bands will be presenting the annual BandArama at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 2 at Swinehart Field, 47255 Shelby Rd. Utica, MI 48317.

BandARama showcases the district’s talented high school musicians in truly remarkable field performances.

"Everyone has worked really hard on their performances, and I think it shows," said Maddie Rose, of Stevenson High School.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Louis Gonda Memorial Music Scholarship to fund opportunities for UCS band students to further their music education. Over the years, the Gonda Fund has enabled hundreds of students to attend music camps, take private lessons or otherwise enrich their music study.

Tickets are $5 for adults and high school students with junior high school and younger students having free admission. Tickets are available at the entrance and go towards music scholarships for band students.

All four high school bands - will perform their half-time shows.

  • Chieftain Marching Band - Band to the Future
  • Eagle Marching Band - Ike Band World Tour
  • Titan Marching Band - Friends
  • Falcon Marching Band - Get Up and Dance

They will begin the night with a combined performance of the Star Spangled Banner.
