Love of reading crosses generations at Havel Elementary

Havel and Eisenhower students share March is Reading Month activities

Reading is fun - no matter your age.

That’s one of the lessons learned at Havel Elementary when members of the Eisenhower High School student council visited early elementary classrooms in honor of March is Reading Month.

The older students read to the Havel students and completed lessons with them as a followup to the books they enjoyed together. The children were excited to receive their very own copy of the story shared in their classroom and were encouraged to read it to their parents at home.

The books read at each grade included: in kindergarten - There’s a Bird on My Head, in first grade - A Bad Case of Stripes, in second grade - Snowball Trouble and in third grade - Mrs. Lane is a Pain.
