Kassab's next court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison for the assault causing serious impairment charge, four years for the assault causing injury charge and up to two years for assaulting a police officer.
Kassab's 15-year-old son was charged with assaulting a police officer causing serious impairment, assaulting a police officer causing injury and assault and refusing to provide DNA samples. He was charged in juvenile court and given a $500 bond.

Officers were investigating a Cadillac Escalade at a home in the 51000 block of Clear Spring Lane near 23 Mile and Ryan Road at 10:45 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of four people shooting a gun at people from inside the SUV, police said.
A witness gave officers the license plate number of the Cadillac Escalade and officers matched the license plate number to the suspected SUV, police said.
When officers began towing the suspected SUV, Kassab, told his two teenage boys to block the tow truck and prevent it from leaving, police said.
Kassab then started pushing officers and started fighting with a sergeant and officer who were trying to place him under arrest, police said.
While the officers were trying to arrest Kassab, the 15-year-old started attacking the sergeant and officer, police said.
Additional officers arrived at the home and eventually arrested Kassab and his two teenage boys in connection to the attack, police said.
"Our officers are committed to protecting our citizens from these random acts of violence by doing their part to hold these offenders accountable," Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide said. "We now have two officers off the road due to injuries and three offenders still on the streets."
