SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — A Shelby Township student could face charges in connection to a firearm photo that was airdropped to students during school hours, police said.

Police said the photo of a gun was airdropped to students' phones and tablets at Eisenhower High School while school was in session Friday. Airdrop means to send or 'drop' files over the air, using 5G or Wi-Fi, from one device to another.

Officials began investigating and determined the identity of the airdrop number, and the student who sent the picture, police said.
