Stevenson High School Studies Olympiad teams made history this year by earning eight top medals.
Stevenson High School students earned two top gold medals, four silver and two bronze medals for the Social Studies Olympiad competitions this spring.
"I couldn't be prouder of the Titans that competed this year," said coach Carolyn Frischman. "To earn 8 medals in 6 state-wide events is a tremendous accomplishment for our Social Studies Olympiad Team! I am so grateful for the support of fellow Stevenson staff, administration, and parents. It was a true team effort all-around."

“This year’s team was one of the most competitive teams in Stevenson’s history," said principal Steve Pfannes. "I am very proud of our Titan Social Studies Olympians and our staff that supported them!”

- Delaney McDaniel '15 – Gold (Collage Poster)
- Krystal Hamama '14 – Silver (Current Event Editorial Essay)
- Jaime Titus '14 – Silver (Photojournalism)
- Wed Yacoub '14 – Silver (Artistic Poster)
- Frank Orsini '14 – Bronze (Current Event Editorial Essay)
- Taylor Sabo '14 - Bronze (Digital Photography)
- Rachel Aho ('16) received an Honorable Mention for
Digital Photography.
The goals and objectives of the competition are to increase student and teacher interest in the education of social studies, to offer contests that lead to improvements in social studies curriculum and facilitate instructional practices that provide opportunities for students and teachers to gain individual and team recognition for academic accomplishments.
In addition to individual awards, the school's quiz bowl won two qualifying rounds, the quarterfinals, and semi-finals to take the silver medal in the state wide finals.
Quiz bowl team members were AJ Taormina, Calvin Montgomery, Nick Wiengartz and Nick Cavalli.
