Third MOD Pizza Slated for Shelby—Brings 30 New Jobs
Restaurant part of company's aggressive expansion plans, will bring 30 new jobs to community
TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, announced today that it has signed the lease for a third MOD Pizza (MOD) restaurant in Shelby Township. The newest 2,800-square-foot MOD will be located at 15089 Hall Road, and is slated to open in Spring 2018. TSFR MOD Pizza Brand Leader Jake Schostak made the announcement.
Known for its individual, artisan-style pizzas and salads, and people-first culture, MOD was founded in Seattle in 2008. Recognizing the potential of the fast-casual pizza industry, TSFR introduced the brand to Michigan in mid-2015 with plans to open 25 locations throughout metro Detroit in the next few years. TSFR currently has eight MOD Pizza locations in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven, Brighton, Canton, Chesterfield and Shelby Township. A second Shelby Township MOD location is slated to open this month, and a Troy location is projected to open in early 2018.
“With each new MOD restaurant, we are expanding our platform to serve as an impactful and inspiring neighbor, while simultaneously increasing access for an affordable, high-quality pizza to metro Detroit residents,” said Schostak. “The Shelby Township community has been an overwhelmingly positive supporter of our MOD brand, which made opening a third location within the community a simple and right decision. We look forward to continuing our mission of creative positive change in this community and know our impact will continue to be significant as we successful grow our presence.”

Looking to add an additional 30 team members to its “MOD Squad” at the new Shelby Township location, TSFR and MOD Pizza are dedicated to offering jobs with the potential of upward mobility to local residents. Prospective candidates, in addition to being friendly, hard-working individuals with a desire to build a positive dining experience for guests, must have flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
MOD Pizza uses fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. Guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800-degree oven in just minutes, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD Pizza also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
